PCC NSW opens 2010 with a microfinance project briefing
President Ronaldo Villaver of the Philippine Community Council of NSW Inc. opens the new year with an event called “Sharing of Experiences on Microfinance Project in the Philippines” on 2 January 2010 at All Saints Parish Centre, Liverpool, NSW.
Bob Alipalo and Violi Calvert, both of North Shore Filipino Association (NSFA) were the resource persons of this event. Both of them were involved in microfinancing project with NORFIL Foundation in the Philippines.
Microenterprises funded by NSFA and implemented by NORFIL includes Chicharon Making, Cabinet Making, Vinegar Making, Therapeutic Massage, Bakery, Sari-sari store, among other cottage, and small industries in the Philippines.
The project briefing were attended by the officers of PCC NSW, members of Visayan Association of Australia c/o Edna Voros, Leon Aguila Association c/o Manny Roux, Fil-Oz & Liverpool & Districts c/o Josephine Maynard, among other community leaders and members to include Sennie Masian.
Jhun Salazar, Vice President of Visayan Association of Australia acted as the emcee while PCC NSW PRO and Ateneo Alumni Association of Australia President Alric Bulseco introduced the two resources persons. PCC NSW Vice President-Internal and Timek Iti La Union President Elsa Collado delivered the closing message of the event ()
